Vancouver Poetry House acknowledges this event is being hosted from the unceded ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-waututh), and sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) nations.

We’re hosting an open mic! On Monday, May 18th, join us as we come together to share poetry in a non-competitive space.
To join, follow the weshowup link and register through the website. You’ll be sent a link via email for the event. We’re using the video conferencing platform BlueJeans for this event.

If you’d like to sign up for the open mic, email with your name by 6pm on Monday, May 18th.

The slam begins at 7pm. All audience members will be muted and as poets perform, they will be selectively un-muted and spotlighted by a moderator to read their poem. Audience members can opt to use video or simply watch the slam without video.

Questions can be forwarded to Sam Peters/ Emailed to

**This slam will be facilitated by a small team of volunteer moderators. We thank them for helping to keep our community safe**
